Bryant Kittrell is a third-generation Greenville native whose career path took a few turns before landing in commercial real estate. After studying political science at UNC–Chapel Hill with an eye toward law school, he instead entered the brokerage world, focusing on real estate securities.
That decision led to a distinguished career spanning more than 50 years in commercial real estate—work that he is only now beginning to wind down. Cindy was born in Virginia, the daughter of a Greek mother and a father from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France. With such a rich cultural background, her upbringing was full of diverse traditions and flavors. She came to ECU to study Business Education, later earning a Master in Education and building a 25-year career at ECU in alumni relations and fundraising.
The couple first crossed paths in 1978, when Cindy was in graduate school. A mutual friend hinted that Bryant wanted to take her out for ice cream (though the friend also admitted they hoped to tag along for free dessert).
While sparks didn’t fly immediately, Cindy eventually invited Bryant to a small dinner with friends—and the rest, as they say, is history. This year they celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Their joy was tempered by heartbreak when their only child, Alex, passed away at age 11 due to complications from a heart transplant. Alex was deeply loved, and her care took the family from ECU Health (then Pitt Memorial Hospital) to children’s hospitals in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. Through that difficult journey, Bryant and Cindy experienced extraordinary compassion from the Greenville community, ECU, and beyond.
In Alex’s memory, they have established two ECU scholarship funds and remained passionate Pirate fans and season ticket holders. Bryant also served on the ECU hospital board for 23 years, including a term as Chairman, helping advance healthcare across eastern North Carolina.

Faith and fellowship play a central role in their lives. Both are active members of Covenant Church in Greenville and First Baptist of Blowing Rock. Bryant is involved in men’s bible study, the Greenville Noon Rotary Club, and loves golfing with friends in Greenville, Atlantic Beach, and Blowing Rock. He also collects Andy Griffith memorabilia and first-edition books by Frank Oz, author of the Wizard of Oz.

Cindy has led a ladies’ Bible study for over 20 years, supports Christian non-profits like Third Street School and the East Carolina Study Center, and enjoys time on the porch with a good book—especially Jan Karon’s beloved Mitford series. As they reflect on life, the Kittrell’s remain deeply grateful for the community that has walked with them through seasons of joy and sorrow.
As far as their relationship with Milestone Wealth, “We’ve known Dave for quite a while, and he is a very honest man,” they shared. “His principles are incredible, and his staff is extremely supportive. We’ve been really comfortable working with him for over 20 years.”
